James Knox Polk Yarbrough born August 07, 1844 in Mayfield , Graves County, Kentucky married Mary Letitia Holmes both had a mixture of Indian blood and felt at home in the forest with nature. As a child James, had a friend among the red face called Grandfather. His own blood flowed with the Black- Foot, Crow and Cherokee. Jame's friend was the Medicine Man, named White Cloud. White Cloud saw visions from the Two World and could cure the sick with chants and herbs. He taught James the old ways to find balance with nature and connected to the spirits of the Dreamwalkers the mystical being of the Dream World. Dreams serve as an alternate dimension to the waking life, with knowledge to be grained from the journey- that you connect with your ancestors and truths unfolds each night . Tennessee is a land of hills and mountains .The Yarbroughs like the forest and tract along the Mississippi that was rich alluvial land, Here were many low land and Lakes and abounding wild life, fowl and swamps covered with cypress trees. Everywhere the hills and mountain sides were heavily wooded, and forests of various kinds of timber trees are found in the alluvial plains the climate mild and healthful to the body and soul. White Cloud would talk with James of life and the journey that all men had to take to manhood. He hunted with him in the dense green forest, that had plenty of wild game with hundreds of rabbits and wild fowls, and flocks of green birds that the Indians painted on mask and shells called the Parakeets. There was an abundance of wild turkeys, and deer and screaming loons and the Bald Eagle. White Cloud loved the mountains and the wind spirits and the forest and Mother Earth. And taught him to listen to the spirit of the wind, whispering her secrets and to see the omens in the lonely cry of the Whippoorwill and owls and read the spirits of the past and future left by our ancestors. by Myra Yarbrough Nickla CHILDREN Walter Lee Yarbrough Tisha Yarbrough Ella Yarbrough Della Yarbrough Neva Yarbrough John Yarbrough William Yarbrough Charlie Yarbrough Novel Yarbrough Bomer Yarbrough Tommy Yarbrough Elmer Yarbrough James K.
