Born November 11, 1846 in Maury Co., TN died in February 27, 1930 in Caddo County: Montgomery, Arkansas parents William "Billy" O. Holmes and Nancy Anne Johnson REFN: 724 www.Yarbrough, Holmes,Leech, Walker,Bolton, George,MillerFamilySite. com James Knox Polk Yarbrough had a mixture of Indian blood and felt at home in the forest with nature. As a child he had a friend among the red face calle d Grandfather. His own blood flowed with the Black- Foot, Crow and Cherokee. Ja me's friend was the Medicine Man, named White Cloud. White Cloud saw visions fr om the Two World and could cure the sick with chants and herbs. He taught James the old ways to find balance with nature and connected to the spirits of the D reamwalkers the mystical being of the Dream World. Dreams serve as an alternate dimension to the waking life, with knowledge to be grained from the journey- that you connect with your ancestors and truths unfolds each night . Tennessee i s a land of hills and mountains .The Yarbroughs like the forest and tract along the Mississippi that was rich alluvial land, Here were many low land and Lakes and abounding wild life, fowl and swamps covered with cypress trees. Everywher e the hills and mountain sides were heavily wooded, and forests of various kind s of timber trees are found in the alluvial plains Hopes this helps.
